Summer hair trends

Summer has well and truly arrived in the UK, and not a moment too soon. None of us really enjoyed Monsoon May did we?! No…what we really want to do is think of sunnier climes, beaches, healthy foods, healthy bodies and feeling good- whether that be in sunny Blighty, or some other beautiful place which may or may not suddenly be thrust onto the amber, red, magenta or purple list.

To be honest, we’re feeling pretty good about just staying put. We can now hug our loved ones, hang out in new bars and cafes, and get used to feeling happy, healthy, invigorated and free! It’s time for a bit of pampering, and to re-enter society feeling fresh and fantastic.

With this in mind, at Viv Towers, we’ve been keeping a close eye on summer hair trends (and a few accessories) and thinking about how to make sure our locks are looking fantastic. Here are our Five favourites:

‍Silk scarves

• One consideration with holidaying in the UK, is the sometimes ferocious winds which can prove somewhat challenging when trying to make an effort. With this in mind, and with some serious screen inspiration from The Serpent, we absolutely love these silk scarves which are retro and stylish. Viv Organik best combinations for blonde hair

• Blonde hair definitely takes a bit of damage in the summer with hair dye, heat, styling products, chlorine and sea water. With this in mind, our blonde sources have let us into a secret…that they’ve been mixing and matching their favourite Viv Organik products, and recommend using a combination of our Strengthen and Shine macadamia nut and argan oil shampoo and Smooth and Move keratin and tea tree oil conditioner. Bardot fringe

• Bridget has always been a bit of a style icon to us, and we definitely think she would rock the season’s silk scarf trend….and possibly even started it in her heyday! Oversized scrunchies

• We’ve been thinking about the 80’s hair fashion accessory of big old scrunchies since we saw that Heathers the musical was coming to the West End stage in London. Based on an iconic 80’s film…it’s a must see, especially if you like your teen angst high school dramas with a bit of bite, and Winona Ryder and Christian Slater at their youthful best. We love these vegan silk scrunchies found in the Etsy treasure trove.

Hoops

• We always think that hair, make-up and earrings are all linked to create your final look, so these amazing and ethically sourced hoop earrings from Anuka  have made the list. Anuka only use materials which have been ethically sourced and Fairmined.
