Shine On: Your Shiniest Summer Yet

June 4, 2021

Summer is here in London, and we’re all getting a little bit of the much needed vitamin D and all that comes with it…..including; the dawn chorus with birds chattering away at 5am, a hay fever explosion, paddling pools in gardens, endless afternoons in quaint countryside pubs enjoying one more Aperol, floaty floral dresses and an overall smiley and shiny look. Or is that just me…

As we look around, we see everyone looking relaxed, refreshed, and well….shiny! The sudden intense heat and humidity is literally making us shine with a cute, slightly hot and bothered look….although this can definitely be tweaked with a few key items to make us look a little more chic and well put together.

As we are becoming more aware of what we put onto, and into our bodies, we wanted to have a think about ow the summer beauty trend of beautiful dewy, glowing skin, and shiny glossy locks can be put together using organic products which don’t break the bank. And fit in your handbag! Apart from, of course, our shine inducing wonder pair of shampoo and conditioner made from macadamia nuts and argan oil to help to nourish those all important hair proteins. As our bottles are definitely not handy handbag or travel size, the fact they are 500ml mean you guys can buy them less frequently and therefore use less plastic. I’ll also let you into a little secret, as we are currently developing more sustainable packaging solutions where you will be able to refill at select retail stores, or the bottles will be made from recycled or sustainable materials. #WatchThisSpace

So, for the glamourous, eye enhancing, shinifying organic products which do fit in your handbag, we have fallen in love with:

  1. Big, beautiful eyes will certainly be having a moment this summer- not least because a lot of us will still be rocking the face mask look for the foreseeable….which makes smoky eyes a no brainer. The favourite organic mineral eyeliner we’ve found is the from Odylique which gentle on the skin, and easy to blend around your eyes to give a sophisticated look. Build up with layers using their grey and black pencils, adding some of their Soil Association approved Slate mineral eyeshadow to add more and more drama
  2. A feline flick which adds an element of sophistication to day and night looks, is a timeless trend which some people manage to perfect in seconds! We did a straw poll and race at Viv (remote) Towers, where the fastest (25 seconds) and most perfect cat flick was achieved using the iconic Dr. Hauschka Liquid Liner. It feels so gentle around the eye ,while also giving the best precision of all of the brushes and brands tested
  3. We’re staying with our friends at Dr. Hauschka for this next product, which we’ve all loved for a few years. Their Translucent Bronzing Tint is a lightweight powerhouse which gives a dewy glow and bronzed look. Some mix it with their moisturiser, and some keep the tint to their cheekbones to highlight and bronze these areas specifically
  4. We really do love general highlighters and illuminators to create summer dewy looks. There’s something nice about adding a lightweight product to help radiate light. So many make up products are to change the shape, enhance, change or remove. This beautiful organic and vegan glowy illuminator  is from Inka Organic. It’s captures and reflects light, and really brings out a gorgeous radiance. The product also contains Certified Organic Cranberry water and Coconut Oil to nourish and hydrate your skin.
  5. We also love this beautiful and natural lip gloss from Lily Lolo, just to add a little colour and luminous shine. The gloss is infused with extra vitamin E and organic jojoba to nourish and protect your lips.

So, there you have it; our naturally glamourous and organic go to beauty items to take you through the summer.

Love, as ever ☺
